Intermediate Padel Course (6 Classes) — Lesson Plan
Course outcomes
By the end of 6 classes, you’ll be able to:
Control pace and direction under pressure (especially at the net)
Build points with clear patterns (lob, pressure, finish)
Defend confidently off the glass (back wall + corner basics)
Handle common intermediate scenarios: fast volleys, body shots, tight lobs, middle balls
Use key padel shots more effectively: chiquita, bajada (intro), bandeja vs víbora (intro), overhead placement
Play smarter doubles with better spacing, switching, communication, and shot selection
-
Focus: Cleaner technique + higher rally quality. You’ll learn:
Efficient footwork and spacing (getting set early, split step timing)
Net-ready volleys: compact swing, stable contact, better targeting
Baseline control: cross-court consistency + depth management
Reading the ball earlier (preparation and decision speed)
Takeaway: More control, fewer unforced errors, better shot tolerance.
-
Focus: Winning the net without overhitting. You’ll learn:
Volley patterns: into feet/body, then to open space
Countering pace: block volley vs punch volley (choosing correctly)
Moving as a pair: pressing, holding, and recovering the line
“Middle management”: calling balls and protecting the centre
Takeaway: You control points from the net with smarter placement.

Chiquita technique (soft, low, to the feet) + best targets
When to play chiquita vs lob vs drive
Transition footwork: following your shot and closing the net safely

Defending off the back wall with control and depth
Corner reads (double glass situations) and safer recovery options
Choosing: take it before wall vs let it hit the glass
Defensive patterns: cross-court lift, lob resets, and buying time
Takeaway: You stay calm under pressure and extend points intelligently.
-
Focus: Punishing short lobs and creating attack opportunities. You’ll learn:
Bajar/“bajada” introduction: controlled downward hit, not a smash
Placement choices (deep middle, fence, feet) to keep advantage
Building the finish: volley pressure → forced lob → attack again
Safer finishing options vs low-percentage power shots
Takeaway: You can attack from behind the line with control—not guesswork.
-
Focus: Choosing the right overhead and playing smarter sets. You’ll learn:
Bandeja fundamentals: control, height, recovery to net
Intro to víbora: adding speed/spin safely (when appropriate)
